Yup, crazy as it sounds, it’s true (with a few t’s and c’s of course!). Chefs will compete for a contract to run the business as their own for a full year. And you, dear reader, will help us decide who gets the chance to run this fine establishment.

The call is out and applications close on 28 February.

4 Finalists will be selected and each will have the opportunity to prepare a locally sourced dinner for a panel of judges – all with a documentary camera crew following their every move. The backstory, dinner prep, highlights and judges commentary will follow on YouTube and you can cast your vote on Jan Harmsgat’s website after the last contestant’s video.

So if you are a chef (or ideally possibly a couple) looking for a great opportunity in the platteland, this could be your gap.
